When I was around 10 years old, I started getting interested in playing music. I had two brothers who played instruments, and I wanted to do that too. I started with four years of piano lessons from Mrs. den Dekker. After those years, I realized I might like the organ better, so I moved on to organ lessons with Dr. Jongsma. I only had organ lessons for a year because I moved to the Netherlands. During my last few years in Canada, I also took trumpet lessons in band class at school and realized that the trumpet was, and still is, my favorite instrument to play. So I have continued playing and practicing the trumpet to this day!
